11 September 2023 marks the 20 th anniversary of the entry into force of the Cartagena Protocol on Biosafety. Malaysia ratified the CPB in the year 2003.
A webinar was organized by the Secretariat of the Convention of Biological Diversity (CBD) to
celebrate this 20 th anniversary that was participated by representatives of Parties as well as
other stakeholders.
Dato’ Haji Rosli Bin Isa (the Secretary General of NRECC as the Chairman of the National Biosafety Board) gave a brief congratulatory message in this webinar and showed appreciation and emphasized the country’s commitment to the CBD in its efforts to protect biodiversity though the safe transfer and use of Living Modified Organisms.
